A potential Spidey threequel could, theoretically, deal with him being chased down by the authorities a la The Dark Knight, while still having a megalomaniac hunting him separately.Īlso, who knows how the Avengers might react to the news of one of their own turning bad? Don’t be surprised if they get involved down the line too. But there’s also the small matter of Spider-Man being framed as a villain in the MCU going forward. Where to begin? For one thing, everyone who knows Spider-Man’s secret – that would be Happy, Aunt May, MJ, and Ned – are now in the firing line for any supervillain that might want to hurt the webhead. We even get what’s fast becoming a Spider-Man tradition as the movie ends before poor Pete gets to say “What the shit?!” A kid from Queen’s who was bitten by a radioactive spider is now public enemy number one. There’s even a handy photo of him plastered all over the news. In one final twist, Mysterio reveals Spider-Man’s true identity to the world: Peter Parker. Jameson is appearing on the news channel to spout off about the public menace that is Spider-Man. Instead of being the Daily Bugle editor, he now appears to be some sort of shock jock, minus the cigar and with a little less hair on the top of his head. It works too Spider-Man looks on aghast as public opinion around him begins to sour. Of course, by Far From Home’s end, we are well aware Quentin Beck is a lying trickster with one too many pieces of illusion tech up his sleeve, but the man on the street doesn’t know that. There’s also the added caveat of it now looking like Spider-Man has an army of drones at his disposal. In one fell swoop, Mysterio makes Spider-Man seem responsible for the London attack, framing him for that, as well as his death. Instead of the webhead being shown as the hero, sending the Mysterio-controlled drones away before disaster struck, he’s seen as a cold-blooded killer. Beck uses Spider-Man telling Tony Stark’s security system EDITH to “execute” his instructions and pits it against him. In it, an altered video clip from Quentin Beck of Mysterio and Spider-Man’s final showdown in London starts playing. It’s at this moment that a news report starts playing. She’s having a rough time of it and eventually gets put down by Pete near Times Square. MJ (who now knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man) is swinging through the Big Apple and clinging on to Spidey. What did you think of the film? What is next for Peter Parker? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. In a rarity for the MCU, the first of the Spider-Man: Far From Home post-credits scenes picks up right where the movie leaves off. Spider-Man: Far From Home is in theaters now. So, what does it all mean? Did Captain Marvel find a new homeworld for the Skrulls? Did Fury recruit Talos and the Skrulls to help out behind the scenes in the MCU before this? Could anyone else in the MCU could be a Skrull in disguise? Talos reports back to Fury, who is now ready to return to Earth. So where is Fury? Fury is seen vacationing in space, taking a much-needed break. You may remember Talos as the leader of the Skrulls from Captain Marvel. Instead, the SHIELD agents are actually Talos and another Skrull. The post-credits scene could have major implications for the MCU as a whole, with the dramatic reveal that Nick Fury and Maria Hill are not actually who they say they are. The end of Far From Home points to this happening sooner rather than later. In the first film, we saw Scorpion - Mac Gargan - telling Vulture he's recruiting villains to take down Spider-Man. Looking back at the post-credits scene in Spider-Man: Homecoming, it seems as though this scene is building to a battle between Spider-Man and the MCU's version of the Sinister Six. Not only will he have a target on his back as he tries to clear his name, but having his identity revealed complicates matters, especially for a high schooler. This has major implications for Spider-Man moving forward. Jameson tells his viewers Spider-Man is a villain and the scene ends with Peter and MJ watching in shock. Simmons, who was in the role during the Sam Raimi-directed Spider-Man trilogy that starred Tobey Maguire. What's even better is that Jameson is played by J.K. He has gotten hold of Mysterio's posthumous message that frames Spider-Man for his actions in London and reveals that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. The mid-credits scene sees Spider-Man and Mary Jane swinging around New York City when they come across a video billboard showing J.
